Seoul, Korea Travel Diary (in Photos)
In October, I was so lucky to take a trip to Seoul, South Korea with my mom, who lives a few hours from me. Because we don't get to spend as much time together as we'd like under normal circumstances, it was an extra special trip for us both — we were traveling across the globe together, to a place we knew virtually nothing about, to visit my younger brother (who's studying in Seoul for the year) and experience a new culture.
It went above and beyond all expectation. For some reason, South Korea had never been at the top of my travel list, but it's now the #1 place I recommend to people! Seoul was everything I could want in a city: modern, but filled with remnants of ancient history; clean and efficient, but nowhere near boring; friendly, but not overbearing. The people we met were gracious (despite our minimal Korean), and it felt like everywhere we turned we discovered something significant, either culturally, religiously, or historically. I'd never want to resort to generalizations, but I enjoyed Korea and the people there immensely, and look forward to my next trip to Seoul very much. If you ever get a chance to visit, don't hesitate — just do it.
Instead of using words, I figured I would simply show some pictures from our time there. Just looking through them as they upload is making me teary-eyed and nostalgic! Enjoy.
